The long awaited Asus Eee keyboard will finally be hitting the shelves in May. The new Asus keyboard has some impressive features that allow HD connectivity to any television. The keyboard also has a 5 inch touch screen build in so you can type even while you are away, and even has multy screen technology that will allow you to stream video and write an email to two different screens at the same time. The Eee is a little on the expensive side at around € 599 for the 32GB version, however i believe it’s another great step forward towards the fully self contained home media center.

The box is basically run from a fuel cell that has a solid oxide core, but also needs oxygen and petroleum to create the chemical reaction that produces the electricity. The box is only available in America and costs around $800,000 dollars however Bloom want to reduce the overall cost for residential market to around $3,000 dollars.

The device also boasts a laptop style tracker pad, which seems to be the way forward in mobile devices. But that’s not all the phone also has a 600MHz processor and 512mb of Rom which is expandable up to 23 GB via an SD slot. Certainly with these features, it will give the IPhone a run for its money.

If you own a smart phone (not necessarily an IPhone), where would you normally get your apps from? Of course most new gen phones have a type of app store they can download favourite games and utility applications from, but what if there was one to rule them all, an app store that caters for all types of smart phone, it would be pretty immense. Well twenty four telecoms operators are planning just that, which would revolutionise the app store market and will definitely give Apple a cause of concern as it would more than likely outperform the Apple app store by miles, what do you think?

There has been allot of news lately over Apples news IPad, mainly over the fact of its just an over sized IPod touch, and which from what i can see i agree. If you own an IPod touch or IPhone there is no reason why you would even contemplate spending over £200 on a giant version. I personally have an IPhone and can read just fine things like web articles and eBooks just fine, so i have no use for this device, however if you cannot afford an IPod touch at nearly double the price and are looking for an eBook reader with a large screen then the IPad will defiantly suit your needs. The only down side i can see with this device is portability, with a 7” screen size it’s not the most compact ereader on the block. Since i don’t own one of these devices and this is just my personal opinion based on the way it looks and the explained functionality, however if you own one of these devices, please let me know your comments.

To answer this question, we need to know what is super life. Every person has a different perception of super life and so, it is sometimes possible to live the super life and sometimes it is not.

Some people want to live on the moon and others on the other side of the universe. Is this possible? You tell me.

Some people wish to be assisted by robots in all their activities. Is this possible? Many would say yes in the future but really contemplate on this and you’ll probably come to the conclusion this is not possible!

Apple products used to be a synonym for the word luxury and prestige, but lately we have noticed that there is nothing better than sacrificing the identity to boost the sales, as iPhone has been seen in American Wal-Mart between the butter, pair of converse and a tuna steak, just taken off the shelf. Now iPhone landed on the shelves of UK’s leading supermarket – Tesco. Although, unlike in the US Apple has their own “Apple Point” in Tesco stores.

We still wonder why for something so simple and sometimes lame we have to pay more than for a decent notebook? I guess this is that prestige Apple is all about, the price & sales prestige.

Helsinki will have the very first natural source of heat for their city infrastructure. According to Reuters the city is close to signing contract with one of the IT companies to lend them the underground anti-bomb bunker as a Data Processing Centre, which will be one of the best places that company with a big amount of servers could ever get.

DPC will be located in a underground location, cold and really just made for this kind of equipment. The special hardware will allow to conserve the heat and direct it to the specially created pipe-shafts to heat up the city during stone-cold Finnish nights. I guess we have now our really true environmental friendly solution for the amount of energy we use with our servers.

Google likes to push forward the web industry boundaries with new and fancy technologies. Nine months ago they have presented us with a new and incredibly fast web browser called Chrome. Since then Google promised us a brand new operating system that would be focused on web browsing and web applications, be super-fast and really reliable.

But it seems that Google does not have a proper plan for deploying such system. We already have a really skinny versions of Linux hat can run not only browser but also local applications, not to mention that Windows 7 for netbooks will arrive soon. Some principles of the Chrome OS are going to be nice, like fast boot, which should take about 5 seconds to become operational (like a TV – you turn it on and it’s ready to go), and store most of the users data online in the cloud.

Let’s just hope that Google will find a good niche for their system as MS has stepped up with Win7’s performance and it loads even under 30 seconds which proves to be a tough competition.

Researchers in Missouri have developed tiny nuclear batteries that may have the potential to power a host of devices in the future. The big advantage of nuclear batteries is the amount of charge they can store, more than a million times that of conventional chemical batteries.
Nuclear batteries are not new, they were used in the 1950s to power pacemakers and they are still used in some applications such as powering satellites where a long-lifetime is required. The problem with these batteries has been their large size. Nuclear batteries use a solid semiconductor material to collect the electrons emitted by the radioactive material. These particles have high-energies and the crystal structure of the semiconductor is damaged by the radioactivity. Therefore, to make the batteries last as long as the radioactive source, means that a large quantity of semiconductor material is required and this increases the size of the battery.
In the new nuclear batteries, a liquid semiconductor material is used and this is not damaged by the high-energy particles emitted by the radioactive source and so the battery can be made smaller.
