The boffins at Bloom energy have come up with a way of creating electricity in a similar way to a power plant. The box is basically run from a fuel cell that has a solid oxide core, but also needs oxygen and petroleum to create the chemical reaction that produces the electricity. The box is only available in America and costs around $800,000 dollars however Bloom want to reduce the overall cost for residential market to around $3,000 dollars.

HTC releases new super fast smart phone

The mobile world congress exhibition saw a plethora of new mobile devices; however the one that stood out from the crowd was HTC’s new handsets the “Legend” and “Desire” feature some impressive features such as Bluetooth 2.1, FTP and OPP as well as a 3.2 inch AMOLED display. The device also boasts a laptop style tracker pad, which seems to be the way forward in mobile devices. But that’s not all the phone also has a 600MHz processor and 512mb of Rom which is expandable up to 23 GB via an SD slot. Certainly with these features, it will give the IPhone a run for its money.

App store for all?

If you own a smart phone (not necessarily an IPhone), where would you normally get your apps from? Of course most new gen phones have a type of app store they can download favourite games and utility applications from, but what if there was one to rule them all, an app store that caters for all types of smart phone, it would be pretty immense. Well twenty four telecoms operators are planning just that, which would revolutionise the app store market and will definitely give Apple a cause of concern as it would more than likely outperform the Apple app store by miles, what do you think?

IPad, oversized IPod?

There has been allot of news lately over Apples news IPad, mainly over the fact of its just an over sized IPod touch, and which from what i can see i agree. If you own an IPod touch or IPhone there is no reason why you would even contemplate spending over £200 on a giant version. I personally have an IPhone and can read just fine things like web articles and eBooks just fine, so i have no use for this device, however if you cannot afford an IPod touch at nearly double the price and are looking for an eBook reader with a large screen then the IPad will defiantly suit your needs. The only down side i can see with this device is portability, with a 7” screen size it’s not the most compact ereader on the block. Since i don’t own one of these devices and this is just my personal opinion based on the way it looks and the explained functionality, however if you own one of these devices, please let me know your comments.

Working from home?

Many people have the thought that when technology advances even further there will be no need to go out to work or go out to schools, colleges and universities to study as technology will be so good that a person can do all of these from the comfort of their own home?

Being technologically away myself, I can tell you that this won’t happen on the mainstream and if some people did do this and adopt such methods for their lives, sooner or later they will realise it’s downfalls and move elsewhere.

What’s your opinion on this?

Many people in the world are looking forward to the Apple Event 2010. Why such the fuss and hesitation by not just consumers but the largest and biggest businesses in the world? Well, Apple are rumoured to announce some of their biggest products yet. Two of the main products to be announce (which are rumoured) are

The Apple iPhone running the new Apple OS 4.0
The new Apple tablet which has been rumoured for years on end.

It’s going to be a very big event for Apple. Another point to note is that when Apple generally announce something, the new products are released within a short time as compared to other companies.

Many people in the world want to live a super life but is that possible?

To answer this question, we need to know what is super life. Every person has a different perception of super life and so, it is sometimes possible to live the super life and sometimes it is not.

Some people want to live on the moon and others on the other side of the universe. Is this possible? You tell me.

Some people wish to be assisted by robots in all their activities. Is this possible? Many would say yes in the future but really contemplate on this and you’ll probably come to the conclusion this is not possible!

New Sony Android phone

Sony Ericsson are making a smart move and releasing an Android device this February. Nokia have previously mentioned they aren’t going near Android.

The new Sony phone looks great with a massive 4 inch touch screen (which is larger than the iPhone and Google Nexus). Has a 1.0 GHz Snapdragon chip and looks amazing!

Now I’m in two minds. My G1 contract ends this April; Should I get an iPhone or the new Sony phone which has an 8.1 MP cam, loads of disk space, massive screen, unique features? Seems like slick phone!

I’ll make my decision soon. I may just go for it!

The Microsoft/HP Tablet

We have all heard of the new Apple tablet that is going to to be launched in the very near future and the hype around it phenomenal. With all this hype and show, Microsoft thought they need to do something about this and counter it! So, what do they do? They team up with HP and work on their own tablet PC which will probably run Windows 7 and will be cheaper in price than Apple’s tablet.

I think Apple have been more popular in recent years with the release of the iPod and iPhone so if they design it well, the Apple tablet will beat Microsoft’s… Maybe…

iPhone not so prestigious anymore?

Apple products used to be a synonym for the word luxury and prestige, but lately we have noticed that there is nothing better than sacrificing the identity to boost the sales, as iPhone has been seen in American Wal-Mart between the butter, pair of converse and a tuna steak, just taken off the shelf. Now iPhone landed on the shelves of UK’s leading supermarket – Tesco. Although, unlike in the US Apple has their own “Apple Point” in Tesco stores.

We still wonder why for something so simple and sometimes lame we have to pay more than for a decent notebook? I guess this is that prestige Apple is all about, the price & sales prestige.
