You might not think that the spork is a gadget, but God damn you to Hades, it is. The spork is a gadget of such crystallised simplicity people overlook the fundamental brilliance of it. It is both a spoon and a fork; it is better than either.

There are few foods that can’t be tackled with a spork. By contrast, forks and spoons have ludicrously narrow usage. Soup with a fork? A thankless task. Meat with a spoon? Not normally, although ‘spoon-meat’ is something that is currently in development for bachelors.

Some people get confused about sporks and think that a tool with a spoon on one end and a fork on the other end is a spork.
